This Privacy Policy applies to information you share with us through this website, our enquiry form, WhatsApp, phone or email, and when you register for or join an OROI ride. It is governed by the laws of India, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

By using our website, submitting our enquiry form or registering for a ride, you consent to this Privacy Policy and agree to its terms. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us.

Information we collect

We only ask for information that we need, and we will always make clear why we are asking for it.

  • Enquiry form: your name, phone / WhatsApp number, email address, city, the ride you are interested in, and any message you write.
  • Direct contact: if you message, call or email us, we receive your name, number or email address and the contents of your message.
  • Ride registration: details needed to run a ride safely, such as an emergency contact, bike details, documents (driving licence, RC, insurance, PUC, government ID) and any medical information you choose to share.
  • Photos and videos: group pictures and videos taken during our rides and events.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Reply to your enquiries and share ride details, dates and updates
  • Register you for rides and plan stays, routes and marshals
  • Keep riders safe, including contacting your emergency contact if needed
  • Add you to ride WhatsApp groups and share important announcements
  • Operate, maintain and improve our website
  • Understand how visitors use our website so we can make it better
  • Share ride memories on our website and social media
  • Prevent fraud and misuse

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the hotels, homestays and local partners who host a ride, our ride marshals and support staff, and the service providers who run our website and email, and only as much as each of them needs. We may also share it with doctors, hospitals or authorities in an emergency or where the law requires it.

Log files and cookies

Like most websites, onerideoneindia.com uses log files. These record visitors when they visit the site, as part of standard hosting services. The information collected includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider, date and time stamp, referring and exit pages, and the number of clicks. This information is not linked to anything that personally identifies you, and is used to analyse trends, administer the site and keep it secure.

Our website also uses a small number of cookies to work properly and to remember your preferences. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some features may not.

Photos and videos from rides

We often take group photos and videos on rides and may post them on our website, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. If you would rather not appear, tell a marshal on the ride or message us, and we will avoid featuring you or remove the content where we can.

Advertising partners privacy policies

One Ride One India does not currently show third-party advertising on this website. If we work with advertising partners in the future, their own privacy policies will apply to any information they collect, and we will update this page.

Third-party privacy policies

This Privacy Policy does not apply to other websites or apps. Our site links to WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, and each of these has its own privacy policy explaining how it handles your information. We recommend reading them. You can also manage cookies through your browser’s settings.

Your data protection rights (India)

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

  • know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
  • have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected or updated;
  • have your information deleted, or stop receiving ride updates;
  • withdraw your consent at any time;
  • raise a complaint with us (see “Contact us” below);
  • nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf.

CCPA privacy rights (Do Not Sell My Personal Information)

If you are a resident of California, USA, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you the right to ask what categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, to ask us to delete it, and to ask us not to sell it. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, email us; we will respond within one month.

GDPR data protection rights

If you are in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we process it, and to receive a copy of it (data portability). To make a request, email us; we will respond within one month.

Children’s information

Our rides are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe your child has shared information with us, please contact us and we will promptly remove it.

How long we keep your information

We keep enquiry details for up to 2 years so that we can tell you about future rides, and ride registration details for as long as needed for the ride and any legal or accounting requirements. After that we delete them. We use reasonable security measures, including a secure (https) website and access limited to the OROI team, but no online system is completely secure.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
